Organic Mass Spectrometry

The Organic Mass Spectrometry (OMS) Group at ORS provides method development and routine mass spectrometry testing services to the Adhesive, Chemical, Electronics and Automotive Industries. IVA™/GC/MS, GC/MS, SPME, and Solids/Direct Insertion Probe techniques are used to perform timely, qualitative and quantitative testing, which is customized to suit your analytical needs. The OMS Group's testing capabilities and a partial list of applications are presented below.

APPLICATIONS

Common applications include purity determination and identification of "unknown" compounds in bulk organics.

Internal Vapor Analysis™/
Gas Chromatography/
Mass Spectrometry (IVA™/GC/MS)

Used for the analysis of organic constituents in the headspace of hermetic packages and ampoules; Identification of volatile organics.

Dynamic Head Space/
Gas Chromatography/
Mass Spectrometry

A technique useful for the analysis of volatile organic and off-gassing analysis of low concentration components in bulk materials.

Solid Phase Micro Extraction (SPME)

An alternative technique for head space analysis of low molecular weight organic
compounds; also useful for determination of organics in aqueous solutions.

Solids Probe and/or
Direct Insertion Probe

Ideal for analysis of compounds not attainable by Gas Chromatography.
